The Passo dello Stelvio is one of cycling’s iconic roads. The 24km stretch of the SS38 first follows the Suldenbach River from Prato allo Stelvio to Trafoi, escaping the valley by Hotel Bella Vista Schone Aussicht and ascending the mountain through thick alpine woodland.

The air begins to thin and, on reaching tornante 24, the iconic hairpin bends snake their way up to the 2758m summit. The final stretch is steep and the scenery beautiful but the final view from the top is the most breathtaking.
